VISUAL FIELD EXAMINATION
Posted by recep on April 19th, 2009With the confrontational method of assessing the visual fields, the examiner and patient face each other and look at each other’s eyes. The examiner swings his outstretched arm in a circle and determines if the patient can detect a moving finger. This method may detect gross visual field defects, but in view of the clinical importance of such defects, a definitive determination should be done quantitatively by a person experienced in visual field examination.
